Our health, cost, and insurance guides are written by three credentialed in-house desks — Research, Remediation, and Insurance — working from primary sources: Florida DBPR registry data, the IICRC S520 standard, EPA guidance, and the Florida Statutes. Independent licensed reviewers are being added to the health and insurance hubs.

Who writes MoldVerified's mold guides?
Our guides are written by three in-house editorial desks. The Research Desk builds the license-verification methodology from Florida DBPR registry data and IICRC and ACAC certification records; the Remediation Desk explains the cleanup process from the IICRC S520 standard and EPA guidance; and the Insurance Desk covers Florida mold-claim rules from the state statutes, Department of Financial Services guidance, and carrier policy filings.
Are MoldVerified's guides reviewed by a licensed professional?
We are adding independent review — an IICRC-certified professional for the remediation guides and a Florida-licensed property and casualty agent for the insurance guides. Until a reviewer is named on a page, we present it as source-grounded education rather than personalized advice; your own policy documents, or a licensed professional who can inspect your property, govern your specific situation.
How does MoldVerified verify a contractor's license?
Every license claim on a contractor profile is checked against the Florida DBPR public licensee database at MyFloridaLicense.com, and we record the date we checked it. Certification claims are matched against the certifying body's own registry — IICRC for restoration credentials, ACAC for the CMRS and CRMI marks.
How does MoldVerified handle corrections?
We update pages when a registry changes or a statute is amended, and we date every revision. If you find an error in a source-verified fact, tell us — corrections are the one thing we treat as urgent.
